Hi All,
Please redirect me if this is covered somewhere else but I couldnt find it.
Has anyone had any success with running a virtual machine on their server and connecting a drive to this VM and running MakeMKV from there?
I am currently battling with initial speed of ripping versus transfer to server speed. My server drive is docked on my windows PC so I have been ripping my files straight to my plex server, however ripping to my PC is ever so slightly quicker per disc but I would then have to transfer from PC to server.
I was just contemplating a VM on my server so that the 'PC' drive that MakeMKV is ripping to is the server drives and wondering if this would see that slight gain (for the cost of a windows key)

Re: running MakeMKV on a virtual machine
I did some testing of 'sdftool64.exe' (a component of MakeMKV) on an Oracle VirtualBox (Win10) VM. Direct HW (passthru) access ought to be possible if you use another environment?
