Question about Zone locked Blu Ray ripping

I don't have a lot of experience ripping discs from outside my region, but as I understand it, if your drive is a LibreDrive (one of the supported drive models from the flashing guide with the right firmware), you should be able to rip title regardless of region/zone.

However, i usually have had problems with ripping Zone A Blu Rays. Make MKV won't read most of them. For example, i tried "The Neverending Story 2" and "Beyond the Black Rainbow", who were both Zone A films. None of them worked.

What did MakeMKV show? No disc inserted? A debug error message? Anything at all? Where they UHDs and it couldn't download the decrypting keys from the internet?
