My secondary room is an older amp that only plays DTS over optical. DTS movies play fine, and DTS-HD movies I've tested play fine in DTS (using the DTS core stream).
I just ran into this one DTS-HD movie that won't play, but the movie plays fine on my main system in real DTS-HD.
So it made me wonder, could the DTS core have been stripped out intentionally to save some file size? Or is this just something pooched about this file or flakiness with Plex. Plex, is a bit flakey for sure - on the 'info' screen playing back it always says "transcode reason -" and gives some random reason most of the time, but then says 'copy' on the audio stream stream anyway (ie. it's not transcoding - even though it gives a seemingly insurmountable 'transcode reason' like receiver doesn't support DTS) so that's all questionable anyway.
Can the DTS core be stripped from DTS-HD?

What does MediaInfo say about the file?
