Hi everybody,
first post here, so please sorry me for the dumb and maybe already answered question.
As in the title, I just want to backup some of my bluray disks: in this case, is there a list of suggest players? I've seen that there is a section for UHD disk players, but I have not understood if the considerations are valid for UHD bluray disks only (it seems so) and consequently how I may evaluate/choose a blue ray disks player (if exists : my idea is to not buy an expansive player I do not need)?
Or for my case any blue ray disk player is OK (I do not think or, better, I think there should be players better than others).
thanks a lot for any tips/suggestions!
is there a list for best bluray disk players (no UHD)? Suggestions?
Re: is there a list for best bluray disk players (no UHD)? Suggestions?
Presumably you're asking about buying a new optical disc drive to use with MakeMKV to be able to rip DVDs, blu-rays, and UHDs? Even if your current intention is only to rip blu-rays, the general advice of this forum would be to buy a UHD capable drive, one of the drives listed in the first post of Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2022. These drives are capable of ripping just about anything.
If you currently have a drive, load up MakeMKV and see what happens. If you're buying a new drive, it is probably true that a less capable drive costs about the same as a more capable drive, depending on your local market conditions.

Hi, thanks for the answer, I try to explain better.
Yes, I have to buy a device to rip only blu ray disks... because I dont have and do not plan to buy UHD: so I could look for a not UHD device, hoping that it is cheap and be sure that I wont have firmware problem (if they exists for blu ray disks). For example, the BH10LS30 could satisfy this requirements?
