Hello
First, my apologies if this is not the right place to be asking.
But I'm looking for recommendations on a new optical drive, prefer a current era Blu-ray Burner.
1) I'm not currently interested in ripping Blu-rays, so I won't need any drive support for custom firmware; only want a drive that MakeMKV will work well with for DVD archiving.
2) Would like the drive to be available for purchase from Amazon.
3) Would like the price to be $80 or less (OEM ok / preferred).
4) I plan on actually using the Blu-ray drive to burn data back-ups as well as archiving standard Def DVD's.
I have found this drive on Amazon as a possible replacement:
LG Electronics WH16NS40

Are there other recommendations that you would suggest if you were in the market for a new Blu-ray burning drive?
Again sorry if this is not the correct place for this to be posted.
Thank you.
Looking for new optical drive recommendations
Re: Looking for new optical drive recommendations
It seems to meet your stated requirements &, assuming it was manufactured after late 2015 (SVC code NS50), has the added benefit of supporting UHD (if you ever change your mind). I use it myself & have no complaints.
