MakeMKV - format and audio problems

i've got some problems with the conversion.

I want to convert my dvd's to mkv in 2 language, but I don't understand how to tell to MakeMKV what the main language should be. there's a way?
same thing for the subtitles, I would like to keep 2 different subtitles languages, but I would like to tell, by default, it doesn' t have to start any subtitle. it's possible?

the other problem is that it converts all DVDs to 4:3 instead of 16:9 . is there a way to give it the specification?

DVDs are 4:3 aspect ratio by definition. Bluray is 16:9, again, by definition.

The tricks to fake other layouts are in the video streams themselves, such as "non-square pixels" (anamorphic) and "letterboxing", with some hints to the player on how to make it work. On DVD, they can be stored in a second place (the directory), but there is nothing to say that the disk authors put the right information in BOTH places. I can't remember which one MakeMKV copies into the aspect ratio in the MKV header. And most (but not all) players take it from the actual video stream itself, where it should always be correct.

Whenever I run into a conflict over "which is right", running the video through handbrake fixes it. Since everything I rip goes through handbrake, it's not an issue. Handbrake uses the video stream information, not the header.

Yes, some DVDs have a mastering problem. There are two places which describes the Aspect Ratio 4:3 or 16:9. One is the DVD IFO headers and one is in the VOB stream files for each frame. There are tools available to patch the aspect ratio in the stream. Not sure if tools can patch it directly in an MKV file. If workflow is to extract the videostream from the MKV file, patch the aspect ratio from 4:3 to 16:9 and remuxx the extracted and now patched videostream and the origonal MKV file (deselect the origianl video and select the patched video) with "MKVToolNIx GUI" to create a new mkv file.
Maybe it helps to set the aspect ratio to 16:9 for the videostream with "MKVToolNIX GUI and remuxx the file, but never tested this way.
