Uninstalling the Windows Version

Post by ThSpeck »

Hi

I am at the moment replacing as many as possible apllications with their chocolatey version, anf came unto a slight problem regarding MakeMKV. It is possible to install it using chocolatex, but since there is no silent uninstall (which would be needed), chocolatey asked me to uninstall the old version before installing it with chocolatey.

After that, I searched in the Windows 10 Settings and in the old control panel for an uninstall option, but did not find one. At the moment, I think, I will not switch MakeMKV to chocolatey (if it should be necessary to do a manual uninstall with each update), but got curious.

Suppose, I would really want to uninstall it, how can it be done. Since during each Update the installer uninstalls the old version before installing the new one, the question is, where is the pure Uninstaller.

Kind regards, Thomas

Win10 Settings -> Apps -> go to MakeMKV and start the uninstall
or
Not sure if this works: C:\Program Files (86)\MakeMKV\uninst.exe
Good Luck :)

That's the problem, neither in Settings -> Apps nor in Control Panel -> Programs and Features is a MakeMKV entry.

Will try the executable.

By default, MakeMKV will include an uninstall link in the Start Menu folder for MakeMKV.

Of course, Win10 screws THAT up on a regular basis.
