Any way to suppress the MKB file?

Post by brellyn2 »

There has to be a way, short of deleting it every time,.. right?

Um, what MKB file?

Are you referring to the optional file that will be created if there is a newer version of AACS?

If it showed up in your MakeMKV data directory, it's partially for keeping track of the highest AACS version you have encountered. If there is no MKB file present in that directory, you'll get one dropped there. If, however, you had one named "MKB_v65_SomeName.tgz" in there, you would get no MKB files until/unless you encountered AACS v66 or higher.

By deleting them as they appear, you're guaranteeing you'll get a new one at the next rip. :)

Also, your MakeMKV data directory should normally be set to someplace you don't see unless you go looking. It's set in Preferences->General, and it's where you can store your edited profiles. If it is not set, the files will show up in your MakeMKV program directory... not somewhere that you should be writing to.

Not that I know of...

Although you could try changing the file name on one to indicate a really high AACS version, i.e., rename "MKB_v16_DUNE.tgz" to "MKB_v85_DUNE.tgz". It should suppress new ones for a month or 10. :)
