I have been lurking around the forums and must say MakeMKV is a wonderful product (I just bought it). I am a Linux user and could easily set my clock back over and over to rip my collection for free. I have an extensive collection of both Blu-ray and DVD. We're talking all the way back to the very first DVD's. It wasn't until recently that I decided to build a media center so that I could access my collection from any TV or device in my home. After a little research I tried MakeMKV and was so impressed. Between this program and Handbrake, that's all I need to quickly get my movies on to my newly built media center. I have spent thousands of dollars on DVD and Blu-ray movies, $50 is nothing to assist me in backing up my investment.
