Converting multiple Discs at the same time.

Post by undercoverturbo »

Hi,

I tried to convert multiple DVDs at the same time, since I got ~50 DVDs to convert :lol:. The second instance of MakeMKV first started at the convert-screen with full loadingbars. After pressing the stop button there I got back to the standard view and could select my second drive (while the first one was still operating flawlessly). When I put in the DVD in the second drive in order to start the prozess I got following error while trying to read the second Disc: (German)
MakeMKV v1.10.0 win(x64-release) gestartet
Fehler 'Interner Fehler - Vorgang wurde abgebrochen (112)' trat auf während des Auslesens von 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH10LS38 1.00' bei Offset '534528'
Fehler 'Interner Fehler - Vorgang wurde abgebrochen (112)' trat auf während des Auslesens von 'BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH10LS38 1.00' bei Offset '32768'

Just wanted to report this issue in the hope that this may be dealt with in the feature since then I will only have to spent half of the time copying all my DVDs :D

I'd recommend using Single Drive mode - this way, each instance of MakeMKV is paired to a different disk drive (and can operate independantly of each other, doesn't impair speeds by trying to scan a drive already in use, and can have unique save-to paths without messing with the other window. To enable it:
  1. View -> Preferences
  2. IO tab
  3. Tick "Ask for single drive mode"
  4. Click "OK", and restart MakeMKV
On next startup, it will ask which drive to lock to for that session - open a few windows, and select different drives each time.
