Well, the payment link is no longer on the website, so someone who has control over the website has certainly been updating it. Definitely concerning that no one has updated us as to what's going on, but cest la vie.
It's here https://www.makemkv.com/buy/

The link to purchase a key on that page leads to https://store.payproglobal.com/checkout ... iqSejznbAH, which currently does not work.

I have used MAKEMKV for many years.
Just checked the pay link and it is unavailable.
Why put people who use this software thru this grinding process every month? Either make the software free or have a functioning paywall.
Seems like an unnecessary burden is being put upon the users of this software.
I use handbrake. It is more complicated and not as good as MAKEMKV but it is available at no cost and receives updates from time to time.

Correct it's been like that for days but the previous poster said it had been removed, as you can see it hasn't been removed, lots of misinformation going around.

Handbrake and MKVtoolnix don't do the same things as MakeMKV.

I think those people are confusing things.
I suspect they are confusing "The link to buy MakeMKV on makemkv.com is removed" with "The payment processor PayPro removed or disabled their page selling MakeMKV".
I know many people who would fail to recognize or comprehend that difference, but the difference is important.
The person who claimed "the link was removed indicating some person with access to the website is updating it" seems to be thinking the non-functioning page to purchase MakeMKV indicates some person has access to update the MakeMKV website, but that is a completely different issue than what actually happened.

As of 8/10/2025 at 8AM:
The key is Kaputt.
The purchase option is Kaputt.
The "software is outdated" is also Kaputt.

Yes completely right that some people are getting confused.

I'm sure if it was the end of MakeMKV Mike would come on and post something, seeing as he hasn't been on I would say there is something seriously up with Mike. He could of had a fun night and got drunk and broke his arms and legs lol pretty hard to get online when that happens 🙈😂

I emailed payproglobal and they said they couldn't get a response from him either. They cut ties and refunded my money

I can confirm that Mike Admin is in a site in what used to be Russia; what it is now, I cannot know.

Mike has exclusive control over keys, pricing, etc. All I or any other sysop have control over is the forum, and that's limited.
I think, for what it's worth, that a distinction needs to be drawn between the site being hosted in Russia (as are other sites, such as LibGen) and Mike himself being Russian. As far as I'm aware, people on the subreddit have been indicated that their, admittedly limited, knowledge has indicated that he is in the UK.

You might have missed the link in my earlier post re the "WHOIS" data for the domain makemkv.com:

But if you didn't check it shortly after I posted, you'll never see it!! What happened is this:
When I checked the "WHOIS" site initially, the name of the "Technical PoC" was listed; his name & address was given, and the address was in Russia. However, when I clicked the "WHOIS" link later - sometime after I posted the "WHOIS" link initially - that information had been removed (a "privacy" feature of "WHOIS" registration). Obviously SOMEONE saw my post, said, "Oh, shit!", and took immediate action to have this data removed. So - make no mistake: The true owner of "makemkv.com" is watching the forum, and well aware of what's being said.

I don't know anything... I don't know if "Comrade Mike" will return or not, I don't know what will happen to "MakeMKV". However, from what I've seen, I'd have to venture a guess that "Mike" is just a pseudonym for the Russian person or persons who are responsible for the software we're all anxious about.
