Beta registration

Post by Tayvl »

It's the 30th of May and the "good till the end of May" beta code is expired. Seems like this happens every month...

Just take a chill pill...

You don't loose functionality, it's not the end of the world.

The new key will be out soon.

Patience.

I think that's a Haiku :P

You can set your system DATE back to 29 May, start MakeMKV, then reset the date to current until Mike posts the new key.

There is also the option of buying a permanent key, and avoiding the angst every couple of months...

Thanks!

I was looking for that page, it's not easy to find on the main website :P

It isn't on the main page.... :(

We've commented on that to Mike a number of times... It is in the program itself, though, in the help menu.

Don't lose functionality? The program won't run.

I always joked that Mike would let it go occasionally so there'd be a gap that would get some people to finally pony up for all of the service we've been getting for free all this time.

Joking or not, it worked. Mike deserves it and I'm happy to give him his (over)due.

Happy to see people lose money on rentals because the key didn't work as promised? Go fuck yourself.

Consider this: People complain that they can't use PayPal to buy a license to MakeMKV, because PayPal considers MakeMKV to be a "tool for piracy". Ripping RENTAL disks and retaining the copy after the rental ends is one classic example of piracy.

A lot of forums lock threads and ban people for even discussing it, to preserve their access to PayPal and other payment processors.

If that became standard protocol, here, which I would not be against, you would have to work overtime.
