Re: Toy Story 3 - Subtitles
Just thought I would ask again if there is a solution to this issue?
Re: Toy Story 3 - Subtitles
On my bluray disk (2-disk set), the Spanish subtitles for the Buzz Lightyear Spanish sections are hard coded (burned in) on the video track. I confirmed this by ripping the movie in MakeMKV and excluding all subtitles. I used VLC Media Player and MediaInfo to confirm that no subtitle tracks were available. The English subtitles still displayed when Buzz speaks in Spanish. Note: The English subtitle "(In Spanish)" does not appear at the top of the picture at the same time because those softcoded characters are actually contained in the English subtitle tracks mentioned below.
In MakeMKV, the 00800.mpls (1:42:33, 27.3 GB) has two English subtitles tracks. I used MKVcleaver to extract both subtitle tracks to SUP files. I looked at both SUP files in SupRip. Neither file had any English subtitles where Buzz speaks Spanish (starts around 1:07:33). However, they do have the softcoded subtitle "(In Spanish)" that appears at the top of the frame when the hard-coded English subtitles present.
