Makemkv crashes when scanning the drives

Hi there,

I have tried searching for this issue but have come up with nothing.

I start makemkv and it begins to scan the drives but around 13 seconds in the program stops responding and then windows vista needs to be manually restarted.

I cannot get past this point.

I am running vista home premium 32bit and have anydvd running. I also use a internal pioneer blu ray drive.

Any ideas or what other information I need to provide to get this sorted?

There is no need/purpose/benefit to run AnyDVD when using MakeMKV, as MakeMKV does its own decrypting of both standard DVDs and BluRay discs.

Actually, running AnyDVD may conflict with MakeMKV - perhaps it's the cause of, or a contributing factor to, your problem...

there is a big chance that it will be corrected in the next version - several bugs were found that could lead to this.

I have just tried my old windows xp partition to see if it was something running on vista however it still freezes and the drive scanning section when you start the program.

I assume that would mean it is a hardware issue with the program?

Please check the latest version 1.4.10 . It contains workaround for some buggy drives that show such behavior.

Yep it worked straight away. Doing my first dvd now. Can't wait to see how it turns out
