1.18.2 and networked drives issue

Post by blaze53 »

I'm not sure what's happening but 1.18.2 appears to "overload" the network connection to a NAS. I don't have the words to describe it otherwise. While ripping, I'll get numerous "Program reads faster than the drive can write" messages in rapid succession. Most of the time, the rip will fail. While the error messages are coming, the connection to the network drive will get really flaky. Disconnecting just long enough to not be noticed by Windows as disconnected but will cause browsing issues. This issue went away after olling back to 1.18.1.

Personally, I rip to a local ssd-based scratch drive. When I have things as I want them to be, I transfer them to my NAS.

I always rip directly to my NAS. No such issues for me. I works fine with either one, two or three rips at once.
Works fine for me on both 1.18.1 and 1.18.2.

I have dual network connections to my NAS.
One goes from my computer through my normal network (with internet), 2.5G to my router, 2.5G to a switch and finally to my NAS with 1G.
The second connection is a direct from computer to my NAS with 10G. This is the one I usually use for ripping, copying and editing MKVs.

I have done a few rips with the slower connection without issues.
