As per above. I'm on macos 10.15.7 and MakeMKV 1.17.8.
Back when things were working, it seems like it would 1) try OS mode, 2) fail, and then 3) switch to direct access mode. Lately more & more it's just the stopping after step 2. Rebooting has helped in the past, but not these last few days.
Help? I wish I could just jettison OS mode entirely, but even poking around the advanced preferences I'm not seeing any such option.

If issues persist, install DASPI MakeMKV DASPI, update your drive firmware, or try an alternative like WinX DVD Ripper.
