Avengers Endgame Rip - No DolbyVision

Post by tidbito »

Greetings. Wondering what I'm doing wrong here. Have my Avengers Endgame UHD disc and trying to rip with DolbyVision. The disc rips fine but only getting HDR-- no DV.
MediaInfo doesn't see an DV info-- just HDR plus the atmos audio track:

My understanding was 'Black Panther' was the only Marvel 4K disc to include Dolby Vision. Was there a particular reason you thought this disc would include DV? I know most of the MCU on Disney+ has Dolby Vision but that is not relevant for the physical releases.

That is interesting. Could you please provide a photo of the case and disc? I ask because I can't see anything on blu-ray.com about any release of the movie including Dolby Vision.

Edit: Are you sure the case doesn't mention 'Dolby Digital' and 'Dolby Atmos'?

I just looked at the boxcover again. Damn my aging eyes. It def has the DolbyAtmos logo. It has another Dolby logo right next to it. I thought it was DolbyVision but looking closer it’s just DolbyDigital. … fml

Nevermind. Smh

Thanks for following up. It is an easy mistake to make. I asked about Dolby Digital because someone on Reddit had a similar query with their copy of 'Avengers Endgame': Link

Appreciate the response. My eyes genuinely couldn’t see the “Digital” under the logo and I’d assumed it said Vision cuz it was next to the Atmos one and with it being a UHD box I just assumed.

Sucks getting old. Lol
