After Purchasing a license MakeMKV is not working

Post by traviskirk »

I just paid for and licensed MakeMKV, however, now I can't get it to read a DVD. I have tried to open that app and then load the DVD, but it just spins. If I open the app with a DVD already in the DVD player it does nothing. Everything worked fine until I was forced to buy a license.

The license doesn't make the disk readable - if it has a problem, you'll see the same reaction by MakeMKV whether it's licensed or on the beta license.

Generally, spinning with nothing being displayed means the drive itself cannot read the disk, and is retrying it. The operating system usually puts an end to that after a bit. On a DVD or Bluray, often cleaning the disk (assuming it isn't scratched) will fix it.

I have the same issue. Just purchased a license today. Inserted the new beta key into the registration tab. Now it I am getting a "no disk inserted" message with every disk I try to load. I ripped 50 discs with no issues previously. Now it seems the LG drive isn't recognized. Is this a drive issue or MKV issue? The only difference was my LG drive was unplugged and unpowered in my desk drawer for a week. Upon powering it on and then purchasing license I have the issue above. Any ideas?

Thanks, Craig

Never mind. My issue was the LG drive. Replaced it an everything works again. It had nothing to do with purchasing a key.

Thx
