Will this external drive work with MakeMKV?

Hello. I have a question. I purchased an external drive from Amazon. The drive I purchased is Asus with model number BW-16D1X-U. Will this drive be capable of ripping blu rays with MakeMKV? I have not received the drive yet at the time of creating this thread. Thanks!

Ripping simple Blurays will work with that drive.

Ripping 4K BDs,... That drive MIGHT. It depends on which physical drive is inside the box. If it's a Pioneer, it depends on when the firmware was put in it. If it's a non-Pioneer, it will require different firmware.

Thanks for the info! I don't have any 4K. What I have is just the standard BD's, and DVDs as well.
