Bypassing DVD Mastering errors

Hi all, could someone tell me if its possible to bypass a DVD mastering error by first ripping the Disc or titles with another application then using MakeMKV to rip from the resulting file?

Although you may be able to accomplish this by first using any version of DVDFab (including the free DVDFab HD), due to bypassing problem sectors, the result may prove to be unacceptable...

Very unlikely - all mastering errors usually show up in MKV conversion phase - and other programs would only remove decryption phase.
