Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
depends on your situation. its nice for me to skip all the demux/convert progress and put the iso/m2ts file in the M9702 and play DV/Atmos directly. i love to collect movies with menu's (iso's). for example: i have so all cuts of a movie like alien (1979), apocalypse now for my collection and not l...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
if kodi can play a profile 7 dolby vision, there's no reason it wont be able to play with menus, at least if it on a device that can run java. In this case, as an android device, it isn't a likely target (though I've been off and on investigating how to run a jvm on android for kodi to use). With th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I use my m9702 daily, with that said, it is far from perfect. If KODI or Plex could ever play dolby vision bluray rips to my TV we;;, life will be much better. with that said, we are far from that day.

Re: smarter file naming
yea, figured that out. I think it be smarter to not have the _t## as part of the template, but to be smart and do an analysis of the the whole job and then decide to be consistent across all of them. for my needs I just removed it from the template, but think its could be a little more user friendly.

Re: smarter file naming
So I'm confused, per that description, I shouldn't getting _t## if my filenames would be unique without it, but I am.....

smarter file naming
Currently the default way of naming a file is <title>_t<track #>.mkv. The point of the _t<track #> makes sense as a default when you'd have many files otherwise named the same, but becomes annoying if one changes the name of the title but then also has to change the filename if one doens't want it (...

"Manual" mode for blurays
So TV show blurays (I've seen it on Animes), doesn't have per episode playlists, but simply a single playlist that it jumps into the middle of for individual episodes (and hence will continue playing from that point till end of playlists). This is suboptimal for ripping to MKV. It be nice if one cou...

Re: MakeMKV is case sensitive on file extension
as far as I can tell (perhaps I've missed it), on Linux, you can't specify this. Hence, I view this as sort of a bug report. It seems my instinct was wrong and one can't make it case insensitive with a simple boolean, others have the same issues in different QT programs. also my issue might be in pa...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
Weird question. read this as future looking, if not possible today, the question is what's reasonable to expect in future (i.e. is it just a software engineering problem to be solved as people know how to do it, just it hasn't been done yet) is it possible to convert easily (losslessly?) between dif...

Re: MakeMKV is case sensitive on file extension
MakeMKV is as case-sensitive as the operating system it is running on.To be able to fake case-insensitivity in the browse window on Linux, you would have to search for "*.[iI][sS][oO]" you can't specify extension when trying to open an iso (or at least I don't see how to). The file picker...

MakeMKV is case sensitive on file extension
wanted to open an iso file that had an ISO extension (got messed up on a case insenstive file system) and the file browser / chooser in MakeMKV on linux didn't display it. When I renamed it to .iso, it instantly appeared in the open browser/chooser. my guess is that the case sensitive flag should no...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Have just created an ATMOS/DV for Gemini Man and have a few questions for the group. My process is simple: Clean ISO -> MPLS -> TSMuxer->TS or M2TS. Questions: 1) Why is the M2TS file 1.5GB larger? The same source file was used for both results - I simply used a different muxing option (TS vs M2TS)...

Re: Dolby Vision and 1.15.1
If one open a Dolby Vision mkv created with 1.51.1 with 1.15.1, there's no indication that the video is dolby vision, it just shows Codec: MpegH HEVC Main10@L5.1 while somewhat cosmetic, it probably should show the dolby vision? There's no support yet in any playback software or mediainfo to detect...
