Re: Does this mean my BD is faulty

With those errors, it is a strong possibility that the drive is physically broken - OS X seems to think so.

Re: Converting ISO to MKV, possible spurious warning message

Mike said last year that the version that had the issue is now rather old, so you're PROBABLY safe ignoring the warning. It will be an irritant, but telling MakeMKV to continue will speed up the conversion a bit, since the data is already on a hard disk. What I WOULD do, though, is dig out the disk ...

Re: Correct playlist for Wild Card (2015)

The video I watched did not require AnyDVD, just "something" that can play BD disks directly, and PowerDVD is probably the most popular. Free versions of that come with most retail packaged BD drives. I don't use it because it installs drivers that interfere with MakeMKV. Pulled out the c...

Re: Converting ISO to MKV, possible spurious warning message

If AnyDVD created the ISO, it will appear to MakeMKV that you are reading the BD through AnyDVD... the "signature" would be the same. AnyDVD has had versions that create damaged files. That is why the warning is in place. Mike will have to provide translation as to what the debug asserts m...

Re: House - Video artefeact

While I do not use Plex on my system, I recall that the hardware acceleration option is ONLY displayed/available if your server supports it. If you don't have the hardware, you won't even be asked.

Re: Process Monitor vs MKV: playlists not matching

800/801/802 would normally mean you're dealing with a Disney disk, and they are the different language choices. Normally, 800 is the one that will have the on-screen titles in English, the others being French and Spanish, if I remember correctly. They are otherwise identical. When you were playing i...

If the post contains a link to a site outside of makemkv.com, it will PROBABLY trip the requirement for moderator approval. This limits the number of posts we see for fake **Unwanted Spam** shoes, fake Rolex watches, and even counterfeit currency. ALL of us are subject to it, even if we've been here...

Re: Cinavia Protection and VLC

If a program or device does not look for Cinavia, there won't be an issue.

But a device like a TV could implement Cinavia detection in its firmware. The only way to know for sure is to take a file known to have Cinavia encoding and play it.

Your drive doesn't like the disk - it can't read parts of it.

Have you cleaned it? Finger prints cause problems like this. It can also be a badly pressed disk...

Re: House - Video artefeact

Is Plex transcoding the video to your TV or device? VLC would not have to, but a lot of devices have requirements that Plex tries to cater to, and the transcoding may be where the glitch is coming from. Since the raw file is the same, the error would be the same when the file is played.

Re: Region code problem [1]

Unless your drive has firmware that prevent it, MakeMKV will strip region coding. Even when the firmware TRIES to prevent it, MakeMKV is often successful. You will get a warning if it cannot. Generally speaking, if a disk can play in a standard DVD player, it should be rippable with MakeMKV, and the...

Re: can I change the output filename logic?

In the MKV process, there are different things called "name". The one that is shown by default is what is put into the meta data for the MKV, AND is used to construct the file name... But all the spaces are replaced with "_" (not one of my favorite things either), and the track n...

Re: Selection advanced options

If you have a particular m2ts number that is "correct" for your disk, that will appear in the right hand display of track information when you highlight the titles in the left-hand window. It will also show the segment order, which can be used to match up against internet reports.
