Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just tried First Man and looks like everything went well. DV and Atmos triggered in plex and here's the mediainfo from the resulting TS: General ID : 1 (0x1) Complete name : Z:\TS\First Man\First Man.ts Format : MPEG-TS File size : 68.4 GiB Duration : 2 h 20 min Overall bit rate mode : Variable Over...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

what movies have you tried? I can maybe give it a try later tonight if I have it in my library I tried Joker, Doctor Sleep, First Man, and Spectre. yep, I think Doctor Sleep EL is not processed. It gives me an error with V1 tool and with V2 tool , EL analyzing stays at 0%. https://extraimage.net/im...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

The sample posted here: https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18602&start=1485#p85786 activates DV and Atmos on the Shield. Have you tried opening your files in mediainfo to see what's listed? Thanks for that link, that file plays back correctly. Oddly enough, I hadn't looked at th...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Try the built in player that LG made As far as I'm aware all the apps like plex/emby are just front-ends for the internal player, so loading it off a hard drive shouldn't make much difference. I have a B9, and haven't been able to get any .ts files to play through the TV's player, or other apps. Ca...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

That worked, thank you! However, after muxing to .ts I'm still only able to get playback in HDR on the 2019 Shield with Plex and on my B9, the dolby vision flag never popped up. I had this issue earlier, and it was because my Plex app wasn't up to date on the Shield. Even though I had auto updates ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Just tested with the full black panther movie as well and both DV and Atmos looks good on plex with shield. Steps I took for reference: 1) Demux the original mpls file from decrypted uhd into 2 hevc tracks with tsmuxer version from here: https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18602&a...

Has anyone tried to see if the problem still exists in the new 1.15 version?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

after more comparisons with my TV internal app and the x700, I now believe the Shield actually output over-saturated color in DV. I suspect it's because they send a bt2020 rgb 8bit signal while the x700 and the appleTV send RGB 8 bit ( no color primaries signaled). Netflix Stranger Things DV compar...

Re: Knives Out UHD

Title 945 was correct on my particular disc. And because I wanted to watch it with madvr, I had to rip it to MKV using the monkey because at the time MakeMKV didn't yet support it. And let me tell you, that experience reenforced the exact process I use because I had massive audio sync issues with t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Sorry if this is a noob question as I've been trying to follow all the progress being made here lately, but how do you keep both video layers when you do the initial mkv rip in step 1? All the ripped MKVs of DV movies I have only show up with one video layer when imported into tsmuxer. I even verif...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Ok - I am on cloud 9. I just tried: 1) Game of thrones S8 UHD rip using MakeMKV 2) Extract .thd and convert to .thd+ac3 using eac3to 3) Using tsMuxeR nightly build, imported the two video layers from the mkv created in 1) alongside thd+ac3 created in 2). It works beautifully on the X700! :-) - Play...

Re: New WH14NS40 just bricked?

Yeah I can definitely see that being part of the cause, especially on a lower quality drive. I was driving it pretty hard those first few days with little down time between rips and each taking 40-60 mins. I know it's been mentioned here in the past that the drives are pretty much the same hardware-...

Re: New WH14NS40 just bricked?

Odd thing I just noticed as I'm doing a bit more testing with this defective drive before sending it back. When I was on the NS60 firmwares, it was refusing to even read DVDs. But as I just tried the Asus firmware again and then back to the original NS40 1.04 firmware, I'm now at least able to read ...
