Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)

I updated to the latest version 1.15.4 and also updated my anydvd to 8.5.0.4 beta and I was able to rip both two towers that would not rip before processing the mkv file so far no errors other than a single sync error.

Re: Improving a Shield for video play back.

Looks like things are working better. Two towers movie only mkv worked fine and like the RotJ just had a single sync error message. Not sure why the beta anydvd version caused it to rip so slowly makemkv is about the same 20min a film. I'm going make new mkv files from both sagas using my ISO rips. ...

Re: Improving a Shield for video play back.

You may very well have been on to something. With 1.15.4 I was able to open the ISO I ripped earlier process the MKV of RotJ and had no specific errors but did say there are some sync errors. Here are the 2 screenshots. I use anydvd because that's how I learned to do it. I started using makemkv just...

Re: Improving a Shield for video play back.

Thanks I'll give it a try. For the record I rip to ISO keeping the protection in anydvd. Do I need to rip them all again or just reprocess them to movie only mkv? I'll try return of the Jedi it had like 8 sync errors. Is there a better way to rip using makemkv? I'm interested to see if my copies of ...

Improving a Shield for video play back.

I'm pretty new or haven't used Makemkv much. I recently bought all the Star wars movies in UHD. Something that was new to me they had lots of audio sync errors. My Oppo creates an audio drop out at the spot where all the edits were made. I bought a shield a few years ago. I tried using it to play fi...

Re: The two towers theatrical 4k

Me too. I got the box set yesterday and Two Towers theatrical and part 2 extended will not rip. I'm guessing they are bad discs. I'm planning to return to BB I hope I can get them to let me just swap the 2 discs that are bad.

Re: Lord of the Rings + The Hobbit 4K (Finally!)

I finally got my set from BB online. The USPS was a little slow. Looks like all ripped but Two towers theatrical and extended part 2.

I will try and return just those 2 disc at BB I think I can wait till after Christmas.

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

I bought the individual discs from BB and had to return 3 discs and one of those twice to get good discs. BB is good for returning them that's one reason I get mine there. Not sure how it works with a box set. I just got my LOTRs set and two towers will not rip. I will probably try to rip all the di...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

Can you do that? I rip with the protection. I'm convinced that the error correction in Makemkv cause most of the drop outs. I'm curious if the sync errors that I'm getting does every copy have the same issue. For instance it took 3 copies of return of the Jedi to get anydvd to rip the complete movie...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

After extensive testing I figured out I have multiple things going on. First off instead of processing off the disc in Makemkv I rip to ISO in anydvd, two return of the Jedi and one attack of the Clones had to be returned. So all 11 ripped without errors. I made mkv of each a few had no errors sever...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

Some people report they can hear an audible pop. I haven't heard any such audio defect, but maybe my ears are too old. :) Here's my understanding of what's happening when an AV sync message is displayed. https://makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=22903&p=94894#p94894 If you dig around o...

Re: Damaged discs -Amazon

I've been buying UHD discs for the last 2 years or so. Only now that I have enough HDD space am I finally ripping the 4K versions. I've run into a few discs now that cannot be read or ripped via MakeMKV. The drive just stalls out trying to read them. Being as some of these are at least a year old, ...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

Sorry for all the responses today but this is what I'm doing and when I have time to do it. All of them have the gaps of silence. I'm going to replace 2 or 3 of them if I get the same issues what do I do? Prior to this round of discs I was ripping the disc using anydvd then makemkv to make movie onl...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

Is it possible that the audio dropouts are induced by your player? Do the dropouts reliably occur every time? My playback system occasionally has an audio dropout but it is always the fault of the player and not of the file. If, after a dropout, I backup 10 or 15 seconds and play again, the audio i...

Re: Star Wars 4Ks

Return of the Jedi had 7 sync errors and when I played it there were 3 audio gaps for like a 1/3 of a second then the audio went mute for a long time I stopped it. I will make notes of the time s of the errors. A new hope just had one audio gap in the beginning but is playing fine after that. So I c...
