How do you try to play blu-rays?
If you have a license for MakeMKV you can use the integration with VLC to play blu-rays. Is that what you're trying to do? Or something else?

Do you still have your files on the single hard drive you copied them from?

Yes. All that stuff. If you trash the app and the stuff in Library, then probably reboot (just to be safe), then install Handbrake again, I'm guessing it'll work. Anything that's in Library, Handbrake will generate again after you install and launch it. Any settings changes you've made will be lost.

Re: BU40N (on Mac-USB) did not update
That's what I eventually figured. The strange things are (in no particular order): The help info for makemkvcon doesn't explain this. The drives article doesn't explain this (the flashing for macs section). MakeMKVcon reported success, even though the flashing actually failed. Billycar11 updated Ul...

Re: Registered version 1.7.1 on MacOS, cannot enable decryption for Handbrake on MacOS
Dragging the app to the trash won't get rid of the stuff in Library. In theory, this is a feature. The stuff in Library should just be config stuff that shouldn't matter. But, it could be corrupted in a way that crashes Handbrake. Normally it means you can plop a new version of an app on top of the ...

Re: BU40N (on Mac-USB) did not update
Your command was: ./makemkvcon f -d '/IOBDServices/E3C16F37' -f /Users/wallace/Downloads/sdf.bin rawflash main -i /Users/wallace/Downloads/HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_BU40N-1.03-NM00000-211810241934.bin Adding enc to the command would change it to: ./makemkvcon f -d '/IOBDServices/E3C16F37' -f /Users/wallace/Dow...

Handbrake crashing when you try to do anything isn't good. When you uninstalled Handbrake, in addition to dragging the Handbrake app to the trash, did you also delete the Handbrake folders in your user Library? https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.5.0/help/troubleshooting-common-issues.html Delete your Ha...

Re: "Fake playlist" protection - help needed
Thanks for the link! I ripped my disks using the .mpls numbers listed, but I noticed that the file names on my rips are different from the ones listed in the link. Specifically the source file name:"number".mkv was different from the files name numbers on the list linked to on this forum....

Re: Registered version 1.7.1 on MacOS, cannot enable decryption for Handbrake on MacOS
I assume you can open an image directory in MakeMKV and then make an .mkv file out it? What happens if you try to compress that .mkv file with Handbrake?

What do you mean, precisely, by image files? An ISO? Any idea how they were created?

Re: Registered version 1.7.1 on MacOS, cannot enable decryption for Handbrake on MacOS
Handbrake does not need to know anything about MakeMKV. So what is the Handbrake checkbox for in the MakeMKV Integration dialog? I have used MakeMKV and Handbrake on macOS for years and I've never seen what you posted a picture of. I have never used any integration between the two. Probably there's...

Re: Backup to Hard Drive Integrity Question
Yes, MakeMKV makes it obvious if a copy does not work right. Have you thought about the implications of storing a large amount of data on hard drives? Bit rot? Drive failures? Power outages? etc? You're rightly concerned about things working when you come back around to trying to play and/or transco...
