The CX can do TV led Dolby Vision so it has 2 decoders, so no discussion. What is more likely is the second decoder is crippled in firmware for media file playback. It can very well be saving everything into memory and then dumping it all onto disk once it's finished processing. A progress counter definitely would've been nice, though.
