Re: MAKEMKV NO LONGER WORKS UNDER MAC OX 10.10.3
If the drive has seen v54, it would be best to find the disk that caused that. Mike needs information from such disks to generate the updates that combat AACS. And, unfortunately, it looks like either v53 or 54 revoke the current key MakeMKV uses. My system records that v53 was found on the Familiar...

Re: MAKEMKV NO LONGER WORKS UNDER MAC OX 10.10.3
I'm working on the assumption that DVDs still work with the drive, because AACS wouldn't affect them. I've also not read many (any?) cases where OS X got in the way of reading them. If that is NOT the case, you might want to clean the drive. But dirty drives usually return a different set of error m...

Re: MAKEMKV NO LONGER WORKS UNDER MAC OX 10.10.3
OS X and Linux can both get into modes where they won't allow MakeMKV talk to the hardware to exchange keys, but Windows is usually immune to that, if you're running it with administrator access. The fact that the drive doesn't accept older disks now is a symptom of AACS updating the firmware to rev...

Re: Last of the Mohicans
If it's from 2010 (date of this message exchange), it is most likely already incorporated into MakeMKV. And, if your have not disabled it, SVQ files are automatically downloaded if they exist for a particular disk.

Re: Fatal error
Well, dodgy in that your drive can't read it right now. Often, cleaning it will help. My regimen when this happens is to get out the Pledge furniture polish... spray the disk, rub it using a CLEAN finger (no grease or grit on it!) in using circular motions mainly across the disk surface, then wipe i...

Re: Windows 10 Pro 10122 Fatal Error
If you have debug logging enabled, you'll have everything that MakeMKV saw, but... it might not help.
Searching Google for build 10122 of Win10 might net you some information, but I doubt Mike has had any chance to test MakeMKV on it.

Mike (who decodes all this stuff, because it's his program) isn't here every day. He's due to show up soon, though.

Re: Converting DTS Core to AC3
Normally, MakeMKV takes the highest-quality track for a language. You can change this by modifying the default selection rule on the Advanced tab of preferences (only visible if you turn Expert mode on in the General tab), or by creating/editing the profile. If you are going to decide later what tra...

Re: mkv-length too short against original Video
There is a way to tell MakeMKV to manually select things: http://www.makemkv.com/manualdvd/ But the first step is to follow the instructions in the FAQ linked in my signature, so that Mike can make any needed corrections to MakeMKV. When I had this issue a few weeks ago (different disk), Mike gave m...

Re: DVD errors, get audio but no video
What are you using to play the file? Many times, "no video" or "no audio" is because the player cannot handle what was on the disk. First and foremost - MakeMKV is not going to create an MP4 file for you. It will copy the audio, video, and subtitle tracks you tell it to save (eit...

Re: Best way to make a bluray video
You need a video editor that is compatible with the CODECs used in each of the source disks. Because several different ones may be used, you cannot assume a given editor is compatible unless you check. While you could use a tool like handbrake to convert all of them to h.264 video, you lose some of ...

Re: ASUS BW12D1S-U USB
Make sure you have sufficient power to the drive. When it spins up to full speed, it will draw at or above the maximum rated power from a USB port, so it cannot be plugged into a non-powered hub.

Re: makekmv 1.9.2
If it says "No disk", that's what the operating system told it when it asked from the directory.
Try resetting your machine and try again. Often, Windows will decide a drive is empty and won't take any evidence to the contrary into account.

Re: Seamless Branching and audio dropouts
While I can't directly address what MakeMKV does, whenever you assemble a file out of segments that are (potentially) stand-alone, there is some overlap. Some audio CODECs will handle these glitches gracefully, some not so gracefully.
