I sent an email to ugoos regarding the audio bitstreaming on PLEX. I encourage everyone else to do the same :)

support@ugoos.net
eugene@ugoos.net

I think the problem is UGOOS and not the plex app
Apparently, it is an upstream kernel issue from Amlogic. The Minix U22-XJ firmware is in the same boat, so we should be thankful that Ugoos has at least gotten lossless audio passthrough working through Kodi's IEC packer, which Minix have not.

It doesn't look like something Ugoos can fix themselves. If anything, we should be asking them to fix the DV colourspace issue (the DV on/off setting should be able to be toggled for DV content independently from the output bit depth/colourspace settings for SDR/HDR10 content), and working with the maintainers of the Kodi DV build (fandangos, quietvoid) to help them get the FEL stability on par with Exoplayer (which is what Plex is using behind the scenes).

this player looks as stable as plex for FEL playback and at least gives you 5.1(LPCM) audio with any format.
Also, there's no fel ghosting when you FF to the endings credits of Power Rangers.
Not sure if this player can access network libraries though.
Yes, this player is using the same Exoplayer backend as Plex, so you can expect that its media-playing capabilities are exactly the same.
I agree. But I am mostly getting stable Fel/ lossless audio playback on Minix / Ugoos with Fandangos build IF the file has been prepared lastly by the latest Makemkv.

If anything else has touched the file (toolnix etc) then I get resynch sand audio drops.

This player with Kodi is nearly there, but more stabability and colour space issues fixed 👍🏼

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I'm trying this out and got an unknown USB device error. In tsMuxer do you choose to output it as blu-ray folder or AVCHD folder? And do you leave the M2TS file in the BDMV\STREAM folder or put the M2TS file in the root directory of the USB drive? Thanks for any extra guidance with this, I'm excite...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Try latest Vimu Player 8.90 from this page: https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=777309 Hey that Player works really very well. I have some stuttering when I select a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, but that's doesn't really matter to me because I don't have a Atmos sound system. Thanks for the tip :!...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Tried a full movie last night on the Mininx/Ugoos - They live. I did a straight rip with Makemkv and the FEL presentation and Atmos surround was a delight, really good. Bugs... after about 10 minutes I had a screen resynch but the movie recovered, then again about 52 mins I had a resynch but after t...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Sorry late to the party, received the Mininx and flashed the Ugoos firmware LATE last night, are we saying choosing TV-Led processing causes incorrect colours with HDR10 and SDR?

Why is that even a thing? TV led processing should only affect Dolby Vision, does HDR10 not pass through?

For the guys with the minix, leave a comment here if you are interested in having Dolby vision in CoreELEC.

I thought Quietvoid said this wasn’t possible in Linux?

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

Same, I have both. Any difference between Ugoos and Minix in terms of DV format support? Which one would you recommend,? Funnily enough I found the Minix loaded with the Ugoos 4.0 firmware to perform slightly better than the Ugoos when using Kodi in terms of stuttering after seeking. I've also foun...

UGOOS AM6 Plus (which has Amlogic S922X-J SoC)
Is the Minix neo running Ugoos firmware a better buy hardware wise or are they the same build quality?

I thought I read that aquaman was problematic. I tried aquaman, Gemini man, ready player one and Alita battle angel. All look exactly like the Blu-ray version.
Cool, may be tempted, thank you.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I just flashed the minix u22 with the ugoos am6 0.4 firmware and all my mkv rips trigger dolby vision. I'm using the fandangos build. In the settings you can choose between player led and tv led, I did tv led. Dolby atoms pass thru working also. Only problem I have is when stopping the movie, it do...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I have an Oppo-203 I've been using for UHD playback as well as rips from a network share. I just learned the Dolbyvision playback on it is less than stellar, it's much dimmer than playing through the TVs video app. I want to replace it, but what's the best UHD player out now for handling DolbyVisio...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

So much words being thrown left and right, can't someone just test Sony X800M2, Ugoos and Minix with DV FEL and then post a few pictures to see the differences (if there are any) ? Wow, that is quite the request that someone buys all 3 machines and a reference grade camera or capture device just to...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

The Ugoos is 100% using the FEL. As an example if you look at the end credits of Power Rangers if it is discarding the Fel they look very grey but if it uses the FEL they are white - they whiteness of the end credits is actually in the FEL. I demuxed the FEL of Power Rangers to check the FEL! It al...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

OK, Minix U22 on latest firmware does not work properly with the Kodi DV build, it will only allows selection of resolution 1920x1080p 60hz. I believe it can be flashed with the Ugoos firmware but I havn't tried that. Hi , do you have more information on cross flashing the U22, is it exactly the sa...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.

I have the Shield 2019 Pro, FireTV 4k Stick, Zidoo Z9X, Apple TV 4K, Minix U22-XJ, X96 Max+ with CoreELEC and the Ugoos AM6 Plus :D For DV FEL, the Ugoos is the best choice. Has it been confirmed that the FEL is actually being used with the Ugoos? Picture comparisons somewhere? Here: https://www.av...
