Mike, no. Manual download works instantly. So no overload at the hosting provider.
MakeMKV downloads the SDF.bin (along with the keys) from different website and from different URL, as no keys are stored on makemkv.com

Re: SDF update 2025

Apparently this is the hosting provider timeout error due to all MakeMKV instances trying to download the file simultaneously. Once it is confirmed that new SDF.bin actually works, direct download link along with manual download instructions will be posted.

SDF update November 2025

Today we pushed a major SDF.bin update. Most Pioneer drives should work now as is, without the need for a firmware update. If your drive is Pioneer, check that you have latest version of SDF.bin (the program should download it automatically). Please report here if you see any changes at all. IMPORTA...

All Pioneer drives will be LibreDrive supported

This post is just a public commitment - all Pioneer drives will be supported as LibreDrive drives in a relatively near future. The precise ETA is yet unknown, but the fact that all drives will be supported is certain. Custom firmware flash with sdftool will be required. If you have any doubts whethe...

Re: “Fatal Error Occured” with MacOS 15.4 Developer Beta 1

Ouch. I swear it was tested....
This is a bug, will post the update shortly.

UPDATE: 1.18.0 has a bug - the program crashes when it is unable to open BD disc, and for most UHD discs. 1.18.1 is coming...

Yes, I am aware of that. I updated to version 1.18.0 and installed it, but it still didn't work, which is why I wrote this post.
For a bit, you still have to submit dumps for v82, same way as with UHD.

I believe the native "hashed keys" are not used for AACS1.0 discs.
They are not usually, but they can be. Specifically for v82 we've added all the discs we got dumps for.

AACS v82 status

As many have certainly noticed, discs with AACS v82 were just released. This is a major AACS update, it revokes both keys and certificates - everything one can possibly revoke. If you have a LibreDrive-enabled drive, you are not affected. But you have to submit the dumps for now. All regular drives ...

Re: Does MakeMKV write a log?

The console makemkvcon has an option --debug which enables logging with no options and optionally allows to specify the log fie itself as in --debug=/path/to/file.log
