Re: backup .iso / 24p playback
My only consumer player (Sony UBP-X700) doesn't support ISO playback (AFAIK), which was at least one of the reasons that I wrote a program for removing soft pulldown on MPEG-2 video. The other way to go would be to play the disc or a burnt copy (especially with region code problem considered) directly.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi guys,
I've used to play my muxed DV movies on Sony X700, and now switching to Ugoos am6b+ with coreELEC. Pretty happy with the new toy, but I have one small thing that bothers me. I'm a sucker for pgs subs which I make myself to represent their theatrical look as close as possible, when they are ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The X700, X800M2, and Oppo Dolby Vision playback is less dynamic than CMv4.0 players, but the Jurassic Park clip has a 4000-nit MDL, so it should still have an effect. Try remuxing the file to TS, maybe.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hi everyone, my father has a Sony x700U and I've tried to play some of the mp4 test files from the "Dolby_Vision_Stuff" google sheet. The one that works is "FEL TEST ST DL P7 CMV4.0 4000nits V4", and I can see the text. However, when I try to play some of the others, such as "Jurassic.Park.1993.BD ...

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I have been using my Sony X700 to play DV content. Annoyingly my TV (Panasonic GZ950) doesn't support TV led DV, as I was led to believe when I made the purchase.
@RESET_9999 or anyone else knowledgable, are there any viewing benefits to replacing my X700 with a Ugoos AMB6+ when my TV only supports ...

... the pattern is 10 000nits with 10 000nits L1 and the real content 3000nits with 3000 L1. Are you sure the files trigger DV? We're talking about the x700, right?

Do you please have a clipping test in profile 7? Because when I tried your clipping pattern in profile 5, there was no clipping on x700.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
... would it look better to watch it in DV with clipping or in just HDR10 without DV?
I don't know, it depends on your TV's handling of the static HDR10 metadata. On my C2, content over 1000nits with a 1000nits HDR10 MDL is also clipped.
Just get a Ugoos instead, it's 10 times better than the x700.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
If I want to check whether a x700 would alter metadata or not, I just just check if L1 plot values are lower than MDL value?
E.g. if all L1 values would be under 1000 nits and MDL is 1000, then it is OK?
So the only problem would be L1 over 1000 nits with MDL 1000 and L1 over 4000 with MDL 4000? And ...

Well, I have an ancient TV (LG E6), so TV-LED is not for me yet.RESET_9999 wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 2:23 pm It doesnt matter because the GTV FEL playback is out of sync anyway and it does fake tv-led.
The x700 alters the metadata(not true TV-LED) and ignores any positive lift so get the ugoos if you want the best bug-free DV quality.
