Re: suddenly no disc will rip
I have since been unable to even mount a Blu-ray disc with or without MakeMKV with my drive. MakeMKV provided no information, not a single debug line. I even tried moving the drive to another Mac that has never seen MakeMKV and it still ejects without mounting the disc. Older discs that previously ...

Re: suddenly no disc will rip
003031:0000 Drive DVD+R-DL hp HLDS DVDRW GUD0N SD03 B6ARVP4414486 has RPC protection that can not be bypassed. Change drive region or update drive firmware from http://tdb.rpc1.org. Errors likely to follow. This could be the issue. I got the same error with a different drive while using faketime an...

Re: RPC protection that can not be bypassed - error on v1.6.14
Well I did try reinstalling from the originally downloaded installer, and no luck.
But the new registration key seems to have solved the issue (thank you). This would seem to indicate that faketime is not the cure-all solution to an expired key for macOS users.

Re: RPC protection that can not be bypassed - error on v1.6.14
Here's a debug log of the attempt today. On a hunch, I have tried a different USB-C port, but no dice. Thinking of attempting a reinstall of MakeMKV. MakeMKV v1.18.1 darwin(arm64-release) started Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /Users/gjames/MakeMKV_log.txt Optical drive "BD-RE HL-D...

Re: RPC protection that can not be bypassed - error on v1.6.14
I'm suddenly getting this error with 1.18.1 on macOS Sequoia 15.5. A DVD correctly ripped, then the second disc from the same title got this error. Other discs, including the previously successful disc, now produce the error. I've tried restarting MakeMKV, rebooting, disconnecting and reconnecting t...

Feature Request: Scanning Redundant Media
I had a thought regarding discs that are damaged. Usually one has to buy a replacement disc, but what if the replacement disc is itself damaged, but in a different place? Scratches are unlikely to be in the exact same place on two identical discs. Could there be an option to pause reading a disc whe...
