Actually tested my file in MPC-BE and forced subtitles were displayed.

Forced subtitles were not showing up when played through Plex. Guess I'll have to dig into Plex and find out.

I select the check box "Subtitles English (forced only)". Always done it this way for hundreds of discs and have never had an issue.

I just have a hang-up with a specific disc (US: "Some Like it Hot") and I'm troubleshooting (thoroughly cleaning and wiping the physical disk, changing drives, etc).

1.17.0 has worked fine on all my other discs though.

Just checked MakeMKV (US, EST, 1148 01/26/2022). This doesn't seem to have been resolved yet.

This was a complicated issue. It's not the physical disc, if MakeMKV was having problems reading from it then it would say so. Plus AACS provides hashes for the m2ts files... if the disc was dirty there's no way it could slip past MakeMKV. Extract all the tracks using EAC3To, then remux them all using MKVMerge. See if that help...

Cleaned the disc with the same result. I'll presume the disc is damaged and try a different one.

It played the video in VLC, but the audio kept cutting in and out.

Maybe it's a crappy disc? I'll try cleaning it and re-ripp.

Ripped the disk with no errors, using 1.10.4 on Win 10. When opening in MPC-HC x64 (latest stable build - 1.7.10), doesn't play and just hangs at 0:00:00 (i.e. no time progression). Any ideas to fix?
