Re: Valerian 4K: SCSI eror Plays on 4K Player
I tried everything but Valerian 4K does not like MakeMKV, but it plays fine on the 4k player hooked up to my TV (I've watched it at least twice from start to finish and skipped through it recently). What does MakeMKV's "Info" window say about your drive? Specifically, does it say that Lib...

Valerian 4K: SCSI eror Plays on 4K Player
I tried everything but Valerian 4K does not like MakeMKV, but it plays fine on the 4k player hooked up to my TV (I've watched it at least twice from start to finish and skipped through it recently). Visually, there don't appear to be any flaws on the disk. This is the first line when the disk stoppe...

Re: Concerns about Purchasing
Just purchased as well.
I got the key instantly in my inbox.
1. I don't want to deal with the drama with beta keys expiring and not getting replaced.
2. I don't want to futz with my system clock.
3. I want to support this wonderful product that I'm making massively frequent use of right now.

Re: So the million dollar question
I'm planning to wait a solid month after the purchase site is back up to buy a key.
In between the next mad rush and the next time the beta key expires.

Re: Current key situation
Has anybody tried the key to confirm that it works?
I'd rather get confirmation before I reset my system date.

"Time travel" setup?
Mine is a Windows laptop I bought several years ago that literally sat in a drawer for 3-4 years before I started using MakeMKV. It still runs Windows 10. I turned off internet clock sync. Out of paranoia that Microsoft would somehow reset the system clock, I turned off wifi and banned its static IP...

Worst case scenario?
Assuming Mike, for whatever reason, never returns, how does this whole situation play out?

Despite me fully intending to buy a key I instead had to resort to a lot of "time travelling" this weekend...

Re: Concerns about Purchasing
Sounds like it's not a good idea to purchase while the beta key is expired, since it would appear there's a rush for purchases. I'm interested in hearing about how smoothly it goes once the beta key is back up. I feel exactly the same way. First, I want to see the beta key, then I'll buy it. Becaus...

Re: Time for new registration code?
This was a surprise.
I was in the middle of processing a disk and then accidentally pulled my laptop from the table too hard.
When I tried to restart, the key expired and I couldn't start it again.

Concerns about Purchasing
Despite a few quirks and flaws I think this is a great product. This forum itself is a gold mine that helped get me started with using the product with 4K discs, which was initially tricky. And I have a ton of discs in my collection waiting eagerly to be used with MakeMKV. As I'm writing this the cu...

Re: Questions about BU40N (Archgon)
I have two BU40Ns in Vantec enclosures, and with my Linux machines and the 1.03 firmware, I've been able to dump hundreds of discs. Maybe there's something... interesting about the USB<->SATA adapter in the unit you have? I'd be interested in knowing what kind of setup you have, because multiple Li...

Re: Questions about BU40N (Archgon)
I answered one of my own questions thanks to this thread: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=36171 The solution is to install the makemkv flatpak then downgrade it to 1.17.6 1. flatpak install com.makemkv.MakeMKV 2. sudo flatpak update --commit=01cd43d6aed487b21bc714a1541c17076b...

Questions about BU40N (Archgon)
I just registered for this forum. First of all, I just want to say this is an amazing resource and I'm in awe all the work you all do to take on these onerous technical challenges. Secondly, after a lot of painstaking effort I finally got one 4K movie backed up: Moonfall (2022, fairly recent). I pla...
