Per the 1st post of the Ultimate UHD Drives Flashing Guide Updated 2025 :
WH14NS40 on any Firmware directly to > WH16NS60 1.02MK
(HL-DT-ST-BD-RE_WH16NS60-1.02-NM00100-211810291936.bin)
Current v1.05 FW is encrypted. Use the SDFtool Flasher .
That said, knowing the type of disc & how it failed ...

LG WH14NS40 ready to flash?
Been using this drive with stock firmware for a little bit. I didn't have any issues with rips and it didn't seem to slow so flashing firmware felt unnecessary. Well, I finally hit a movie that won't rip - I think it has to do with region locking?
As far as I can tell this drive is okay to flash ...
