Re: Is my pioneer BDR-XD05s flashable?

Thanks Coopervid!

The drive is flashed and working.
The only one thing I noticed is that after ripping the disk doesn't stop spinning after completing the rip
until I exit makemkv. My other drives don't do that so not sure what's with this one.
But no biggie.

Thanks again!

Re: Is my pioneer BDR-XD05s flashable?

If you have it, post your Makemkv info just to play it safe. I just picked it up. Fingers crossed. Re: Is my pioneer BDR-XD05s flashable?

Pioneer drives are essentially capable for UHD since the 208 was sold. Only LG drives need to be younger than end of 2015. Thanks! I got him to come down to $80. I'm going to go and pick it up in the next hour or two. If you can help me out with the flasher, that would be amazing. Thanks so much!

Yes. Can be flashed to XD06 and is then UHD capable. Sounds like a good deal.
OK thanks for the fast reply!
The 11 years old is giving me some hesitation but maybe I'll get it
and then I'll reach out to you to help with the flashing.

Thanks again.

Re: Is my pioneer BDR-XD05s flashable?

Hello, there's a local guy selling a XD05 that's unopened. The only information I have is after I asked him to check the back of the box is that it was manufactured in April 2014 and it says CUXV5 in big letter in the back. Not that I need another drive but I'm wondering if anyone can tell with this...

Re: Pioneer BDR-UD03 UHD possibility

Hello Coopervid, I thought I will try my luck with the local staples that had some Verbatim 43890. I thought perhaps they might have some old stock. I was right, I just picked one up and it's showing as Pioneer UD03 https://i.postimg.cc/gkBskWh9/Screenshot-From-2025-04-22-19-32-01.png It would be gr...

Re: Verbatim 43888 & 43890

Dang. And I ordered one from Amazon Germany a couple of hours before coming across this information! :( It's already shipped. I guess I will be sending it back as I can get a LG slim external for cheaper from Amazon Canada. I think those ones are also BU40n on the inside. I already have two of BU40n...
