I had the same concern. Looking at the fixes https://support.apple.com/en-us/122400, it doesn't appear to be a huge risk. I will go ahead and do it and get back to the forum.

So far so good, the Serenity UHD disc is working as I type with version 18.1.1. Thank you for the rapid response here!

yes, I updated to version 1.18.0 on MacOS 15.4 (24E248) and ran it against the Serenity UHD and it exited with the fatal error. My initial pass was with the internet access turned on and the entire computer rebooted.
