BatchMakeMKV

The reason I put together BatchMakeMKV (a very simple c# app) is so that I could have a more self sustaining HTPC. I mainly use ripped DVDs on my HTPC for movie content. I don't like extras on the disk because I never use them and they take up space. So to get around this I extract the original vide...

Error Exception: MKV_ASSERT

This is the first DVD I have had trouble with. The Video_TS folder was ripped using AnyDVD to harddrive. I used handbrake on it previously to create a smaller mkv for my PDA which worked without a hitch and maintained chapter functionality. I attached the zipped video_ts.ifo and the log is: Opening ...

Re: Command Line

You can use "all" as title id. There is presently no way to specify individual streams or multiple titles besides all or single. Request to expand command line interface noted, but I do not believe this feature will be added anytime soon. Thanks for the clarification. Will keep an eye out...

Re: Command Line

Thanks, I tried that before without success, after searching again today I found this post which got me on track and I was able to create a single MKV from a title I had previously ripped to my HDD. I'm really stoked at this point. A couple new questions now... I was wondering is there a way to choo...

Command Line

I know this is beta software and still under development, but I was wondering if anybody including mike admin has got it running from the command line. This would be awesome functionality for a very handy app already.

Re: Video compression in MakeMKV?

Using DVD decrypter you can get the raw streams for video, audio and subtitles. ChapterXtractor will pull out the chapters and then just use MKVMerge to throw them all into an mkv. It's the exact same thing as what MakeMKV does just not as clean, but you can script the whole process to automate it. ...

Re: Audio stream names is always "Undefined" at playback

Wow VLC does show it correct during playback. Looking forward to the fix in the future, this is really some great ripping software you've got here. Keep up the good work.

Re: Audio stream names is always "Undefined" at playback

Every single one of my DVD rips also comes with "undetermined" for the audio and subtitles. I know that MakeMKV has determined the correct language because it is shown in the GUI when I deselect different audio and subtitle tracks. The language name just doesn't transfer to the finished MK...

Just wanted to chime in that I can extract video, audio, and subtitle streams without any trouble using MKVextract GUI.

The subs are even uncompressed which is great. I had some problems with subs initially because I didn't know MKVmerge by default compressed them.
