Re: MakeMKV is incorrectly reporting that AnyDVD is enabled
It must be something unique in your setup, because I don't have that problem (and I haven't heard of anybody else having it). In practice, I've never had any problem with interference between the two (other than the nuisance of having to click "Yes" when the popup occurs).

Re: Lossless track not found
Although it seems strange (and we've become used to Blu-ray titles having it), some Blu-ray titles do not have either TrueHd or DTS-MA. I just encountered this on "1945", it only has Dolby Digital.

Re: Coco UHD??
FWIW I just tried this disc (again) with a drive that's essentially the same as yours and had NO problems. The only thing that I can think of is that there is some defect in your particular drive, but who knows? (Or maybe there's a bad batch of discs out there???) Good luck.

Re: HDR colors muted on HDR enabled TV
Note that HDMI 2.0 does not have enough bandwidth to handle RGB (or YCbCr 4:4:4) at 10 bits (which is apparently necessary for HDR) and the result is exactly as you have seen. Really? I thought HDMI 2.1 was for 8 and 10k. How does one normally connect a 4K HDR device if not by HDMI? My TV only has ...

Note also that this is not just with an HTPC, e.g. if you set an Oppo 203 to RGB (the default is YCbCr) you get the same des...

Re: UHD drives
If it is flashed with the Asus firmware it behaves identically to a 16NS40 under the same conditions. So to use this drive it needs both service code NS50, and flashed to Asus firmware? I also have one, though it has a SVC code of NS40 - manufactured Feb 2015. Am I out of luck? If I bought a new As...

Re: UHD drives
I have an LG BD-RE WH14NS40. Is this compatible with UHD Blu-Ray's? I looked at the manual but it doesn't explicitly say so, it just says it supports 128GB Blu-Ray. I have one and it can be used the same as a 16NS40 in all cases under the same conditions. If it is flashed with the Asus firmware it ...

Re: UHD drives
WH14NS40 works fine for me. The Asus firmware can be loaded into it same as the WH16NS40.

Re: UHD drives
FYI: The LG WH14NS40 (SVC CODE:NS50) works just as well as the WH16NS40. When either LG is flashed with the Asus 3.02 firmware they are just as fast as the Asus.

Re: UHD drives
Should I just go for whichever is cheaper then? I thought with the LG you need to get a specific revision as well... I believe (but don't know for sure) that you need the "NS50" version (not to be confused with the "NS40" in the model no. - they're not related). I believe that i...

Re: UHD drives
Is the ASUS BW-16D1HT still the best drive to buy? I'm tempted by the WH16NS40 for only $50 (and it has a faster BD-ROM readspeed)... Note that the BW-16D1HT and the W/BH16NS40 are exactly the same hardware (except for the bezel and labels). You can load the Asus firmware (up to 3.02) into the LG a...

Re: Asus BW-16D1HT Firmware
Note that 3.03 (that blocks the loophole) is the version that is on the disk that comes with the drive.
3.02 works fine both on the Asus and on the LG 16NS40.

Re: Anyone know why some UHD discs contain two Titles?
Thanks, preserve. Your info seems to be essentially correct, although for what I've got, the title with Japanese can be either the first or the last. But, as you say, for English it doesn't matter which you use. For The Great Gatsby, the middle title (t05) seems to be the same as the first title, ex...

Re: Anyone know why some UHD discs contain two Titles?
I've wondered the same thing. So far, I've ripped: Flight of the Butterflies Interstellar Life of Pi Sully The Great Gatsby Of those, ONLY Interstellar has only one title. The Great Gatsby has three. Mostly the extra titles seem identical, even as to size, and the MediaInfo report shows no differenc...

Re: Subtitles are not in .MKV although I unchecked "Forced O
Not all disks use Forced Subtitles. On some they are a separate (non-forced) subtitle track. You may have to use trial-and-error to find what you're looking for.
