Then the Pioneer BDR - XS07UHD that I bought by mistake and has the damned firmware 1.03 would also work? That would be so incredible.......

I had this problem with mkv version 1.7.9. I then uninstalled that version and installed 1.7.8 and now it works great. I paid for MakeMkv, so I was able to swap versions (I always keep older versions).

I have a similar problem (Verbatim 43888 with Pioneer drive) I get the following message:
