Re: Problem ripping UHD w/LG with *new* LG drive..
I guess I'm a tad confused; I thought you suggested getting a Pioneer because it has better error correction, but then said I wouldn't have any better luck with a Pioneer drive? I'm sure I'm misunderstanding something, so forgive the confusion. I realize no reader is going to fix the obvious scratch...

Re: Problem ripping UHD w/LG with *new* LG drive..
Definitely already tried washing it as suggested with no improvement. Shame on me for not taking better care of it. The disc in question is unwatchable on a regular player so physical defects are undoubtedly the issue. I still might pick up a Pioneer drive as a last backup . I'll have to go back to ...

For a final test...

Re: Problem ripping UHD w/LG with *new* LG drive..
Thanks for the reply and the advice. The UGREEN adapter I'm using is externally powered. However, because I had success with the regular BR but not the 4K BR, it made me at least *suspect* the idea that the 4K discs were drawing more power than the UGREEN supply was giving. It is rated for 1.5A at 1...

Problem ripping UHD w/LG with *new* LG drive..
I recently purchased a new internal LG WH14NS40 SATA drive, connecting it to my laptop via an externally powered UGREEN SATA to IDE adapter. I immediately flahsed it up to WH16NS60 with no problems whatsoever, then proceeded to rip two known-good regular BluRays with no problem whatsoever. All good,...
