Re: ELI5 for a Linux NOOB
Extract with whichever file archiver you have, for example I use Ark.
You run those commands in each of the 2 directories you extracted, 1 for the bin, 1 for the oss.
See if you can understand it from these commands (run 1 of the wget's to see what happens).
Thanks, I'm not sure I follow all ...

ELI5 for a Linux NOOB
I'm using Linux Mint (Ubuntu/Debian based) and trying to learn Linux as I install and use various apps. I want to understand the steps outlined by mike admin in his sticky post, as I'm getting stuck on step2.
The first step
sudo apt-get install build-essential pkg-config libc6-dev libssl-dev ...

Re: Could you please relax your pwd rules just a TAD?
But, my gut says that your rule is effecting LOTS of people, who like me, aren't gonna be too
happy that your folks decided to pioneer a new standard in password rules.
Am I asking too much????
It's a ffecting, btw, :) and yes you are asking too much. Personally, I'm amazed this is the ...

Re: MakeMKV is NOT a transcoding-tool. Agreed???
I agree 100% with the original poster. "Transcode" is mis-used in the main home page of makemkv. In fact, the main reason I came to the forum was to find out if makemkv was actually transcoding or just ripping/decrypting, as I do NOT want to transcode the data, I want a ripper. I want the original ...
