Re: Another Verbatim 43888 failure
I am taking a gamble and purchased a $60 pioneer BDR-UD03 on eBay from china. I took apart the verbatim and took out the BU40N and will slap the pioneer inside and see what happens. If it works it’ll be a nice pioneer drive with usb c connectivity. Will report back on how it goes.

~500 discs and it will die. Just happened to me. You may get lucky, but I’ve seen many post with similar results as me.

Thank you for your reply. I can’t seem to find any pioneer drive that would ship from the US at the moment. What would recommend? ThanksCoopervid wrote: Wed Nov 05, 2025 9:12 pm You can't find an UD04 or UD03 unless you are lucky on ebay. Don't buy from China. Mostly scams.

LG BU40N Died in Verbatim 43888, replace with Pioneer BDR-UD04 in same enclosure?
Hi, my verbatim with LG drive just died, making clicking noise now and spitting out discs.
Does anyone know if I can keep the enclose and swap out the drive with a Pioneer BDR-UD04?
I know the same model verbatim came with the pioneer, but wondering if there are other internals that would be ...

Re: What is the deal with the KEY?
Well, I was prepared to purchase a key as waiting a couple days and dealing with the beta key has proven worth dropping $50-60 to avoid.
But with reports of multiple users not receiving their purchased key, I will just wait!

Re: Bad Disc?
Thank you for the thoughtful response.
I have a couple follow up questions.
I just want to confirm the likeliness of a power issue if I’ve been able to put multiple discs through the BU04N and was only having trouble with this single disc? Albeit the only 3 layer disc I’ve tried yet. And it hasn’t ...

Re: Bad Disc?
Thank you for your response. I did search, but couldn’t find the exact sting of errors and found conflicting suggestions as to the cause. For my knowledge can you elaborate as to what exactly in the logs points to a power issue?

Bad Disc?
Hello, I am relatively new to Makemkv. I have put about over 100 discs through it, with 100% success rate. Mostly just DVDs and Blu Rays, I patched the firmware on the drive and was successfully able to rip star wars III 4k as my first UHD disc, but my second attempt at uhd has not followed that ...
