Doe this have something to do with Windows 10 not being able to read the cover art inside the MKV folder?

Most of these are old Comp USA disks I used years ago, and then put away. But that could have been 15-20 years ago. Weird some work like a charm and others don't even get past the first few chapters.

Little more Information, I got a repeat of like 12 of these messages at different locations:
"The source file '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB' is corrupt or invalid at offset 1385715712, attempting to work around"

It was working fine and now when it goes to read a disc, the green bars just stop. Then when I go to write I get a fail. What happened?

Not sure why but it doesn't seem to show when I look at the file. I don't understand why. I watched a tutorial, but still can't see it. I know its something I'm doing wrong but what ?

This is great info. After googling it for a couple days I got lots of info, but it seemed to go in every direction. Just between Mkv and Handbrake the options have kept my head spinning to say the least. As fas as DVD go sometime I can just put the DVD on with subtitles on and thats the way it comes...

So maybe MP4 for older black and white movies and MKV files for blurays. I wanted to have the ability to choose subtitles when I watched, but this sounds like a real pain, especially since most of what you just said makes little sense to me at all. After a little more research I think what I want is "soft" subtitles that can be either off or on. Is the only way to do this thru adding a separate SRT file? Sounds like there are either on or off but really not selectable?

Just like you would on a bluray. So far I have made them nonvisible, then I got them to show. But in neither instance could I turn them off or on during playback. I'm also using Handbrake, so the options are available, but where do you set them, so while playing back a file I can either turn english...

First one and weird results. Doesn't actually play the movie Patch Adams dialogue, just a Directors description. Did I check off the wrong box somewhere?

Under the branch tree I checked full surround and stereo, is that maybe why?

So is the v1.17.9 the correct version?

I bought the software, but do I just install the latest from here? Also when I go to install it I get a warning saying it will put my PC at risk. Is this normal?
