I decided to try a good old re-install of makemkv and (mainly) DASPI.
So, this time, I was already with the drive plugged in and with a disc in it when I re-installed DASPI.
I could hear the drive being accessed during DASPI installation and lo and behold: MakeMKV can now properly decrypt my test ...

Hello there.
I'm new to the world of "MakeMKV" so my apologies if I'm making some dumb mistake.
Right now, what I tried was:
Instal both MakeMKV 1.6.15 and DASPI 1.3 under Lion 10.7.2.
Restarted.
Tried to open 2 Blu-ray discs getting the same error: Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely ...
