Take this with a grain of salt. may be good news! Shanxi Lightchain Technology could continue making optical Drives! Found this information online. It is likely that Shanxi Lightchain Technology will continue to make optical disc drives, as they acquired Pioneer's optical disc business in April 2025...

I bought the Pioneer BDR-XS08MB-S off ebay NEW from japan a couple months ago. Very happy I did with the Good news and the Bad news!
