I did have the sg module but it was not loaded .
As seen in other forum's posts solved the issue .
Now MakeMKV sees optical drives , even inside usb enclosure .
It's true that when starting the program there should be no disc in the optical drive .

It worked like a charm , even with the drive inside the OWC Mercury PRO usb enclosure , with Windows inside a Qemu VM .

Now UHD discs work .
