Beware of new OWC Mercury Pro enclosure
I acquired a Pioneer BDR-212DBK from a fellow forum participant recently. It was flashed to BDR-S12U. I've already had an OWC Mercury Pro enclosure for an LG WH16NS40 for a couple of years, so I had been switching back and forth between having it plugged into the WH16NS40 and the BDR-212DBK for a wh...

Re: PSA: New Archgon UHD drives do not allow flashing
Thanks Billy, glad to help, and thank you for all your hard work! I agree about those USB 3.0 Micro USB connectors; they're quite fragile. Hopefully the USB-C connection will prove better in the long run and at least the cables are easier to get and use. But I am guessing that's why they had to use ...

PSA: New Archgon UHD drives do not allow flashing
FYI for anyone considering buying a new Archgon UHD drive from Amazon, the controller chip in that enclosure of late does not allow flashing. Re: HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only
Received my drive yesterday. Impressive service from Larry, who went out of his way to get it to me quickly. I've already ripped a few regular and UHD Blu-rays, and everything works fine. There was one hiccup with an older disc that's a little beat up, but cleaning the disc solved that issue. It's ...

Re: HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only
This guy's drives are legit. I love the fact that it's also saving drives from the landfill. larhaus was very professional, and he had the drive in the mail the next day. I had unrelated trouble with USPS delivering the package, it went back and forth a couple of times, but that was not OP's fault....

Re: HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only
I was given permission from a valued customer to post this review in its entirety, unedited. Dealing with Larry and the dvd drive have been fantastic! He was super responsive and transparent. I know it seems like your just sending some guy money to get a drive but the mkv blogs are a community and g...

Re: HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only
I was given permission from a valued customer to post this review in its entirety, unedited. I recently purchased this Blu-ray drive, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The drive works great for ripping Blu-rays, but what really stood out was the seller, Larry. He was incredibly communica...

Re: Handful of HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only
Thanks for being so fast! It was in the mail the day I paid and made it to me in a few days through the USPS. It looks great in a nice slim case and works with MakeMKV, right out of the box, to backup my movies, so it made setup dead simple. The only trouble I had with it wasn't really the drive's ...

Re: Need BU40 Info: Power On Metrics? Newest Build Date? Official Sellers?
"Also, the BU40N is recommended largely because of its availability. It's cheaper, too, and easier to update for MakeMKV." Where are you finding these drives? Like I mentioned in my original post, Amazon/Newegg only sells through third party sellers so I have no idea if my drive is truly ...
