Re: HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only

This guy's drives are legit. I love the fact that it's also saving drives from the landfill. larhaus was very professional, and he had the drive in the mail the next day. I had unrelated trouble with USPS delivering the package, it went back and forth a couple of times, but that was not OP's fault....

Re: HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only

I was given permission from a valued customer to post this review in its entirety, unedited. Dealing with Larry and the dvd drive have been fantastic! He was super responsive and transparent. I know it seems like your just sending some guy money to get a drive but the mkv blogs are a community and g...

Re: HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only

I was given permission from a valued customer to post this review in its entirety, unedited. I recently purchased this Blu-ray drive, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. The drive works great for ripping Blu-rays, but what really stood out was the seller, Larry. He was incredibly communica...

Re: Handful of HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only

Thanks for being so fast! It was in the mail the day I paid and made it to me in a few days through the USPS. It looks great in a nice slim case and works with MakeMKV, right out of the box, to backup my movies, so it made setup dead simple. The only trouble I had with it wasn't really the drive's ...

Re: Need BU40 Info: Power On Metrics? Newest Build Date? Official Sellers?

"Also, the BU40N is recommended largely because of its availability. It's cheaper, too, and easier to update for MakeMKV." Where are you finding these drives? Like I mentioned in my original post, Amazon/Newegg only sells through third party sellers so I have no idea if my drive is truly ...

Re: Need BU40 Info: Power On Metrics? Newest Build Date? Official Sellers?

Since your drive is relatively new, it is unlikely that the optics of your drive are dirty, but they might be. If you're willing to take the risk, you could gently clean them with isopropyl alcohol and dry them with a clean microfiber towel. I agree with this. I have an optical mouse and also a cat...

Re: Need BU40 Info: Power On Metrics? Newest Build Date? Official Sellers?

Tried this as well, works sometimes but Im still looking to understand more about this drive. Seeing how well the Pioneer works im surprised people seem to be recommending this LG drive so much. Either I got a bad/used drive batch or this drive really is so weak thats its scared of its own shadow. ...

HP BU40N drives for sale! USA only

Hey all, First, let me thank the MakeMKV crew on outstanding software and the helpful MakeMKV forum members and moderators for all the help they give. I'm a (currently unemployed) tech professional not new to optical media backup and ripping, but I am relatively new to UHD ripping. Brief background:...
