The firmware should not be the issue but if you want to, you could flash it to Buffalo PU3-BU10.
What do you mean by this?

try cleaning the disc with a damp lint free cloth then immediately dry with another to avoid water spots

I did some more testing. It rips DVDs and blu rays just fine. I tried powered USB hubs, unpowered USB hubs. Before I flashed the new firmware the disc was recognized by Windows and ...

I tried with both connected directly to a laptop or to a Powered USB hub with 45 watt power supply.
Anything I can do or do I have a busted drive?

Re: SDFtool Flasher

flashing did nothing to create this issue

It could. Before it at least recognized that there is a disc in there.
It still works fine on Standard Blu Rays and DVDs just not on 4K. It own't recognize that a disc has been inserted.

Well now pioneer drives don't work.
Can we put on the UHD Flashing Guide that Pioneer drives with newer firmware don't work.

Re: Failed title - Log attached

An issue similar to this happened to me when ripping.
Maybe try ripping all of the files and all of the audio tracks and subtitles on the disc instead of just the specific one.
What is the physical condition of the disc? Smudged? Scratched to an extreme degree?

if that dont work get a high powered usb hub 35+ watts

If you are using a Linux VM then I would suggest just making a new VM

Re: Some DVD's Not saving anything

I have had this same issue when ripping Oppenheimer. I tried restarting my system and rechecked the cable on my Blu Ray drive. I don't know what fixed it, but it went away in a few days.
