Well I installed to 1.17.9 and that has offered no help to me. funny thing of it is, The Windblowz OS ver 1.17.9 works well. Yeah, 1.17.9 isn't actually far enough back. I'm still on 1.17.8 because a while ago now, when 1.17.9 released, it started doing that hanging thing on linux. Haven't updated ...

Sooooo I checked the makemkv version and the NAS is running 1.17.7, but the one I am (was) running on my other 2 machines is 1.17.8. I grabbed the cached 1.17.7 package, downgraded, and suddenly the drive is loading discs just fine. So I guess I found a bug. It also dumped the firmware file and the...
